Painting in watercolour is a means for recollecting memorable moods, people, events and objects in vivid colour. Each watery brushstroke is an expression of love for the painted subject and the culmination of painted details and colour often reflect in them a perspective different from the one I had intended to present. In painting, I offer an insight into my mind but also surprise myself with the resulting forms emotional expressions of the brush can take. Through watercolour painting, I have learnt to embrace new perspectives, unexpected results and hope for all things yet to come.
I joined Singapore Watercolour Society in 2011. I have served in the committee as English Secretary from 2016 to 2021 ; Internal Auditor from 2021 to 2022 and actively participated in the society’s local and regional exhibitions.
