I began my watercolour journey in 2017 through workshops and online learning. After retiring in 2021, I devoted more time to regular practice, focusing mainly on landscape subjects inspired by my outdoor hiking and travel experiences. Driven by a desire to grow, I intentionally stepped beyond my comfort zone by travelling solo to Turkey and China to participate in plein air workshops, and by joining local urban sketching groups to develop my ability to observe and paint quickly on location. In 2025, I further challenged myself by working in larger formats. Although I initially faced challenges with water control on half-sheet paper, I refined my technique through repeated practice. This process led to my submission of an exhibition work at the Qingdao International Watercolour Festival in August 2025.
