I graduated from NAFA in 1977 and subsequently embarked on a 43-year career in the advertising industry. Immersed entirely in my work as an advertising designer, I became completely disconnected from the world of painting. After retiring in 2017, I finally released the accumulated pressures of those busy years and picked up my paintbrush again, fulfilling a long-held aspiration: to make travel and painting my top priorities in retirement.
Occasionally, I join a group of fellow artists for overseas sketching trips, honing my fledgling skills while finding deep fulfillment and joy in the process. To date, I’ve participated in eight such international outdoor painting excursions.
In 2018, I was honored to become a member of SWS, where I’ve had the privilege to exhibit in annual exhibitions and learn from master artists—an experience I cherish immensely. Additionally, I’ve participated in several annual exhibitions of the “National Teochew Artists Art Exhibition”, organised by the Ngee Ann Kongsi.
