Wahlukis, the artistic name of Linn Wong, is a Malaysian philanthropist artist whose practice is deeply rooted in compassion, memory and lived experience. Emerging as a self-taught painter during the global lockdown of 2021, she transformed a period of isolation into a profound creative awakening. What began as a personal exploration of drawing soon evolved into a purposeful artistic journey marked by technical refinement, emotional depth and commitment to giving back to society.
Driven by empathy and social responsibility, Wahlukis dedicates the majority of her artworks to charitable causes, particularly in support of hospice care initiatives.
Her debut solo exhibition was held at Macalister Mansion in collaboration with Soroptimist International Penang in 2022. The three-hour exhibition achieved remarkable success. Among the highlights was her notable work – A Tiger’s Dream which sold for RM 7,000, marking a significant milestone in her early artistic career and affirming the resonance of her work among collectors.
Wahlukis is best known for her expressive animal portraits, where she demonstrates exceptional sensitivity to character, movement and spirit. Alongside this strength, she nurtures a deep passion for urban sketching, drawing inspiration from the cities she explored extensively before. These cityscapes serve as visual memoirs, reflecting her love for travel, culture and architectural heritage.
