Phyllis Chong钟慧仙

Phyllis rekindled her childhood passion in art when she met a group of like-minded artists in year 2011. Since then, she has been painting actively at various locations in Singapore and overseas. She also paints still life and portraits of live models.

Phyllis joined the Singapore Watercolour Society in 2017 and is currently the society's Secretary-General. She exhibits her works every year with the society and several art societies and has sold her works in these exhibitions. Phyllis was also privileged to give a talk with Urban Sketchers Singapore at the National Museum of Singapore to share her enthusiasm in travel sketching. She also auctioned her paintings at charity events to raise funds for needy students.

Phyllis's works were published in the Our Neighbourhood Series by Epigram Books and the Urban Sketchers Singapore Volume 2 book and the "Let's Draw Singapore" book created to commemorate 50 years of nation building for Singapore. Her works were also selected for feature on the cover page of the Contact South East community magazine and on postcards distributed as memorabilia for community events.

Phyllis now teaches watercolour painting for beginners. She hopes to inspire and help more people enjoy painting by sharing her knowledge and experience and by tapping into her teaching experience as a former teacher.
