Ng Tse Chong吴志昌

While always showing interest in drawing since young, art creation has always been nothing more than Tse Chong' casual leisure activities. From pencil sketching to digital art, these hobbies have always been varied, sporadic, and casual in various stages of his life.

Tse Chong's watercolour journey is 'accidental' - when the Covid 'circuit-breaker' started in 2019, Tse Chong started picking up drawing again to pass time. Starting with ink drawing on small sketch books, Tse Chong tried several art mediums and became very attached to the unique texture of watercolour which is challenging to master. Through the encouragement of a framer, Tse Chong applied to become member of the Singapore Watercolour Society (SWS) and was accepted in 2022, in time to participate in the SWS 53rd Annual Exhibition Colourful Splashes. Tse Chong combines watercolour with his keen interest in the Chinese culture - his exhibition pieces in the past were related to Chinese architectural buildings. This year, the two pieces of work are Chinese cultural relics found in the British Museum.
