Art making is an interesting process and it allows us to ponder and consider many different aspects with regards to the things or scenes that we are observing. Having a meaning in the painting is important and essential to me in my Art making and creation. When viewing a street scene with the infamous shop houses found in the civic district of Singapore, it tells so many stories from the way it was built and put together with the different elements that represented the different cultural groups. The pre-war and post-war buildings that occupied many famous streets in Singapore has always been fascinating to me and to capture the different elements of each ethnic group. I am exploring the colour scheme to express the pace and speed that Singapore is changing in.
